Roots Unraveled was founded to bridge the gap between mental health care for communities of color and the collective investment it takes to sustain it. We believe systemic change, not just individual care, is what makes generational change possible.
We believe mental health is the root, and community is the work. That's why we're committed to providing clinical services across Massachusetts—accepting MassHealth and delivering care in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. We recognize that this gap doesn't close through clinical work alone. It closes through partnership. We partner with the organizations already serving Boston communities, the cafés already holding space for real conversation, and the clinicians who want their care to extend beyond the therapy session into the community that needs it.Partnership with Roots Unraveled means meaningful impact, delivered through retainer-based organizational consulting, workshops, keynote and panelist speakers for your events, clinical therapy referrals, and direct-service volunteer events.
Generational change doesn't happen in isolation. Like roots, it grows when basic needs are met, provided with the stability needed to thrive, and blooms into community.
The Harvest
Organizational Consulting
Roots Unraveled partners with your organization through a retainer-based model built around your organization's real needs. Services range from individual therapy slots for your clients or staff, to clinical consultation for social-emotional programming, group facilitation and staff trainings, and clinical supervision for interns where applicable. Every partnership starts with an introduction call and organizational tour, so services are built around your culture and the population you serve.
Community Engagement
Roots Unraveled brings culturally responsive clinical specialization directly to your organization as workshop facilitators, panelists, and keynote speakers in Boston, MA. Our team of Black therapists, Haitian Creole–speaking, and Spanish-speaking clinicians specializes in the topics communities of color are actively searching for support around. Specialized Topics Include: Systems, Stress & the Brain: Neurobiology of Oppression, Men of Color & Mental Health, Military-Affiliated Families & Trauma-Informed Care, Redefining Self-Care Beyond #SoftLife, and Identity, Boundaries & Intersectionality. Available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
Rooted in Service
We show up — literally! Rooted in Service, Roots Unraveled's volunteer program, partners alongside organizations at food banks, shelters, and family-serving organizations across Boston. Hands in the soil, we sort, serve, stock and distribute alongside your staff. It's community care in action. Ready to bloom! We also partner directly with Black-owned, minority-owned, and woman-owned cafés and coffee shops across the Boston area to host service meetups with intent to create space for real conversation before or after each volunteer session. We bring the community, you pour the coffee!
